Holy Cow! I used the Household Textile Environmental Impact Calculator to suss out my level of Environmental Damage Unites (EDUs) through my buying, wearing and disposing of fashion in a year. I was shocked to see that sit at the Fashionably Average to Fashionably Underweight mark. I think my conscious habits have gone a little soft…
Last month I shot a Classic Cool video with TheOutnet.com. First off, it was a super fun shoot, and second- I was beyond impressed with their offerings of eco-fashion. They pulled pieces from Edun, Stella McCartney and MADE jewelry for my shoot. :)
Love the look we put together? You can scoop up the goods at the FASHIONmeGREEN shopping page they created just for me on their site.
Cool and Classic can be eco-fabulous!

On a recent trip to Kyoto, I trucked all over the city seeing temples, eating soba, buying loads of Hello Kitty phone charms (they are just so cute!), and going straight from sightseeing to dinner. Inspired by the outfit on the right from ShopBop’s ‘Ultimate Closet for Fall’ look book, I’ve outlined the eco-alternatives to get the look. This outfit is perfect for a day out walking, followed by a night of good eats and maybe a little sake. Here is what you need to for this eco-outfit:
Keeping up with the fast pace of the ever-changing fashion industry, stylists and designers placed driving gloves on models for A/W11 shoots and runway shows, giving way to a new trend for the season. They are a great way to make any outfit look fierce and up to date. Their classic shape and noteworthy detailing make them an investment piece worth springing for. We love Dents Keyhole Driving Gloves simply for their style, and were happy to learn that Dents sources their quality leather from the meat industry, as a bi-product. Now you can confidently grab a hold of your style with substance!
Toms Shoes is known for the awesome social responsibility business model of their one for one motto. Now, with the recent launch of their eyewear line, for every pair of Toms sunglasses sold they will help another gain sight. As Blake Mycoskie expands his one for one model in others ares, I am in full support!
I am loving the casual chic tone that California Girls take when dressing. Of course, you have the very dressed up and perfectly coordinated Cali girls, but I am tapped into the easy does it culture- where long hair and a great bag are all you need to make any outfit work.

Harajuku Girl. I’ve just spent the past ten days in Japan, roaming the city streets of Tokyo and Kyoto. I read a great book called A Geek in Japan in preparation for my trip, and it was the perfect intro to Japanese pop culture and fashion. Yet, no book can prepare you for the awesome individual style of the Japanese! I adopted a couple of signature pieces that swayed my style to a more playful Japanese influence: knee socks and a bow headband.
