Perhaps prompted by the need for nostalgia of better times during these tough economic ones, or just a simple celebration of the iconic American happy-go-lucky always ready for a good time girl- the main display at the Galeries Lafayette in Paris is all Barbie.
Of course it is done in a very chic manner, mais bien sur! Each Barbie scene is presented in the infamous pink Barbie box- though 3-4 times its original size. And each box represents a period of time and the fashions on Barbie reflecting that. My favourite detail is the designer labels on the shopping bags casually placed at the Barbie’s feet.
A stacked illumination of electric pink Barbie boxes with scenes like flashes from your memory sending you back to each decade and hurling you forward in what’s to come was a great entrance to the Galeries Lafayette.
In case you don’t make if over to see for yourself, enjoy a few snaps below. :)
