The Weekly Wear: California Dreaming…

Spending time in the warm weather of Southern California has taught me one thing- the dress is queen. It is the one piece that transcends any occasion with the right accessories. Well, Daniela Pais, the designer of Elementum, took that sentiment one step further. She strategically cut and sewed one piece of fabric that can be worn at least five different ways- talk about sustainable fashion!

Above, I am wearing a piece from her first generation collection (one way) as a cowl neck mini dress. You can see that I have folded a fair bit of fabric under the top part of the dress just above my waist. If I let that out, the dress becomes longer- hitting below my knees. And, if I turn the dress sideways, I can wear it as a halter top, rather than the cowl neck. Awesome.

Ok, so the diagram above shows how this one piece of fabric has various calculated cuts to allow for the many ways it can be worn. Truth is, I am still figuring them all out and playing with the concept. Check out my hooded poolside cover-up below.

Pretty awesome, right?! Wanna try? Elementum and GretaGuide are giving away the same piece (in green multi-stripe) that I fashioned for this week’s Weekly Wear! You know the drill- leave a comment below and a winner will be chosen to receive this truly versatile and sustainable piece of fashion. Good luck!
