A winning combination.

There is a make-up look that never fails me. It is the perfect blend of subtle enhancement and head-turning glam. When I was in California last week, I saw my look on various advertisements and I’m inspired to bring it back around and share the details with you.

Start with a perfectly blended clear and flawless base- I like to use a slightly lighter than my skin tone concealer under the eyes, on the lids, on the bridge of my nose and on any imperfections. Then I will go back over with a tinted moisturizer, on the majority of my face, blending so that I get a perfect foundation. If you are concerned about getting oily as the day goes on, use a sheer powder to set your liquid bases by brushing it on with a large powder brush in circular motions.

Next comes the eyes. I use a light shadow that is an ivory white color to brighten my eyes. I dust this shadow over my lid and on the inside corner and beneath my eye slightly. Then  I go back in with a black eyeliner. I like to use a flat edged brush and dry powder that I get wet to apply. It allows for a more accurate and natural look. I will push the brush in to my upper eyelashes all the way along my upper lid- getting slightly thicker at the outer corner of my eye. Then it is one coat of mascara in a very gentle way- only separating the lashes and adding a touch of length by using the brush vertically.

Finally, a tiny bit of peach or pink blush applied to the apples of the checks and brushed out and upwards adds some color to the face. Finish it all off with a complimenting lip color. If you have green or blue eyes, go for a light berry color to really make your eyes pop. If you have brown or hazel eyes, I recommend a more matte cotton candy pink to contrast with the brown hues.

There you have it- a look that is as simple as it is stunning!
