Advice is a funny thing. We seek it, honestly and at times with great eagerness, but at the end of the day, we always seems to know what is best anyway. Or, I would say, you always know what it best in the beginning… Before too many opinions come in and mix up your original clear view. Have you ever noticed that? The way you felt when first considering a decision is typically the best and resonates most with how you truly feel. Then we set out asking the opinions of virtually everyone- cleaning ladies included! and suddenly you no longer know what you should do.
Having gone through this cycle a few times myself, I suggest writing out what you want (in the big picture sense) and how making the decision at hand fuels or stifles that. Then, if it is still unclear, open it up for discussion with a few select people whom you trust and respect. My guess is that they will only help to affirm or reason what you have already decided. ;)
