From the Feast on Good Conference, Brian Bordainick shared his story on how he is helping a disaster devastated area rebuild. Four years after Hurricane Katrina struck, students at Carver High School in New Orleans are still attending school in trailers, without facilities to participate in extracurricular sports activities. At 24, Brian is a recent Teach for America teacher who is taking his role to new heights with a mission to build the first ever state-of-the art athletic facility open to the community.
So often our efforts and attention is drawn to impoverished and other disaster stricken areas of the world, but what we forget is that we have our own opportunities to make the world better within our own country. Thanks for the reminder and for leading the way, Brian. Find out more at: http://www.9thwardfieldofdreams.com.
