Over the past few days I have had a multitude of very talented and quite exceptional people come into my life. Someone asked me what I have been up to and I could only respond with, “I have been meeting up with all kinds of wonderful people and having inspiring conversations.”
Amanda Rose, of Twestival, passed along her wise words to stay focused on what you want to do in this life. “Have a clear vision of what you want to do, and be in control of that. And sit with yourself to see if you get that gut feeling from inside that tells you, you can do it.”
My friend Rich Tong, shared his take away that visiting fashion blogger Susie Bubble of Style Bubble had offered up at the Independent Fashion Bloggers Soiree. “She said it is important to be yourself and find a way for your voice to be heard. Don’t be distracted or discouraged by what other people are doing- just find the way that works for you and stay true to that. Also, give credit where credit is due.” These words really stood out to me, as we are all sharing so much information at such an expedited pace through Twitter and the like.
When meeting with Scott Harrison of Charity: Water last week, I came away feeling like one can accomplish anything- and it is all how you present it. Their marketing, visuals, videos and events resonate with the public and cross the boundary of a traditional charity. Going forward, I will draw on their success as an example for my own.
I have taken from each one of these experiences and people- who have shared with me how they work and what they hold in up most importance. Now, I strive to give that back out through this post, and within my own life- leading by their examples.
