Throughout my life, I have had truly amazing people come into it. Some are non-negotiable, like family members, and others- friends and boyfriends, I have chosen to give large amounts of my time to. Each person has an influence and exhibits certain traits that are admirable and may become something that we mimic in our own lives. I was thinking about this the other day, and how much I have learned from the men in my life, because they bring a different perspective and set of priorities.

I have learned wisdom, humility, concentration and execution, ownership, independence, resourcefulness, the importance of family, how to stay in touch with people all over the globe, patience, that hard work pays off, to save and invest your money, social intelligence, belief in myself and many, many other things.

The important thing I realized is that taking those influences and putting them into practice makes me a more balanced person- and all I had to do was think of the attributes I admire in the opposite sex. Each relationship, and each friendship brings more of this. So, sometimes they frustrate us, sometimes they break our hearts and sometimes we just don’t understand them- but in the end we can always draw good out of our relations with men. Ok, ok- let’s hear it for the boys!
