This one goes out to my friend, Miss Jen, who has requested guidance in heels you can actually walk in. After reading my post on how to walk in heels, you should be able to walk in anything right?… But, I fully agree, some heels are much more manageable. Here are my recommendations for getting heels you can confidently strut in. ;)
Though they look and sound cute, kitten heels really don’t do it for me. I find them very trying to walk in because not only are they an unsturdy spike you have to balance on, they are mini- and therefore even less supportive!
The easiest heels for me, personally, are wedges and platforms. Cork and wooden wedges are always a safe option- just make sure they are not made too heavy, that is when you start clunking around. I have varying heights and styles too. Most of my wedges are sandals, but I also got a great pair of black suede wedge boots last year- and they were my go-to comfy boots with a little added height!
As for platforms, again you get all kinds of heights here, so you want to play with it and find what you feel you can walk in. I have some pretty sky high ones, and I love them. Because the platform raises the entire ball of your foot as well as your heel, it just feels like you have stilt blocks beneath your feet. I always feel sturdy and it is even better if you can get ones that have the ankle strap that wraps all the way around and secures you in. ;)
I picked out an assortment of heels I like that fall in line with what I’ve been describing on Polyvore, you can look at them here.
