Ladies, ladies- can we please own up to the fact that we all have girl crushes and that we check each other out way more than our male counter parts?!

So amusing and, of course, very flattering when you pass another female in the street and she lets her look linger just long enough to take in and categorize your entire outfit- the brands, the trend, how you wore your hair…

The only thing I don’t like is that for some reason there is this unspoken rule that we should not be “caught” in the act of checking each other out, and have to wear a snobby face to disguise our utter envy and appreciation. I think that this is crap!

We should be offering compliments to one another and giving the knowing smile of “girl, you nailed it and look awesome!” Let’s shift this messed up social norm of “too cool to compliment” and start a new one where we all engage in fuelling our creative energy and awesome identities.

Ok, I know I sound as idealistic as Barack Obama- but honestly, if you implement this new secret salutation and I do too- the next time we are walking past a girl in a rockin’ outfit the sideways stare down will be replaced with a knowing look and smile of recognition and appreciation ;)
