If you are like me, the evening shower-off during the summer is mandatory. The perks are at least three-fold.
First, you wash away the grime of the day and give your clean linens a longer life. Second, if you turn the water slightly cold right at the end of your shower you will increase circulation and sleep better. And third, if you decide to wash your hair, you can use the following tip to style it for the next day. ;)
Beauty tip: get effortless natural wavy hair while you sleep!
- Let your hair air dry after showering to a mostly dry state.
- Make a messy zig-zag part down the middle or off to one side, if you prefer.
- Brush it out and if you want a more full look, tease the roots around the crown of your head underneath a 1/2 inch layer- which keeps the hair looking smooth on top when you are finished.
- Separate your hair into three section: one bigger section in the back- if you place your fingers behind your ears and draw a line up on both sides to connect on the top of you head- that is this back section, and separate the remaining front section into two- basically the two sides of your part.
- Twist and twirl these sections into buns on top of your head and secure with a bobby pins.
- The looser you make your buns the more relaxed the wave will be.
- In the morning, take out your buns and delicately shake out your sections- running your fingers through to separate.
- You may leave it like this and finish off with some super lightweight hairspray to give the wave some staying power, or you can run a brush lightly over the ends to give it a more polished look and then use that hairspray.
I am kinda a natural girl, so I opt for the roll out of bed and shake out with no brush and no hairspray look- which is perfect for summer. This has been my signature move this summer and I get compliments and queries all the time. Now I share my secret with you. ;)
