Sergeant Pepper (meets Tiny Tim)
My favorite time of year is when the seasons are just in between, and you can wear mid-weight jackets instead of heavy duty puffers. I picked up this blazer from one of my all time favorite stores in London, called Miriam, in Hamstead.
The golfer cap I snagged from a thrift store in the Mission in San Francisco last summer. Mark Twain famously said, “The coldest winter I ever spent was...

Top Knot
One of my little style tips is to tie my hair up in a knot on top of my head just after I’ve finished blowing it dry and brushed it out. Doing this helps me to get volume (lift from the roots) and a really natural wave. Today, I thought I would just rock the knot!
Some of my other fashion blogger friends have been tying their hair up like this, and the jury is still out as to whether or...

4 Ways to Green Your Website
For all the ways the Internet helps us to cut back on our carbon footprint (GoToMeeting.com anyone…) and reduce our paper trail, it is actually an energy guzzler.
Web companies are a major culprit in energy consumption, which go unnoticed as we check out Facebook wall and Google whatever our hearts’ desire, not to mention running a company website or blog. The best thing we can do...

Pretty Woman
February is nearly here and New York Fashion Week is on my mind! Last NYFW, I won a fashion blogging contest put on by Beautiful Stranger. Part of my winnings was a $1000 shopping spree at Catherine Malandrino. I walked into the Meatpacking District store, and ogled the racks of dresses with her signature design of diagonal pleats and draping. I tried one of the dresses on and had a ‘Pretty...

J Crew Girl
In order for you to get my outfit post title, I have to share a guilty admission… I sometimes use the J Crew catalogue as a style resource. There I said it! I really love their styling. They always seem to accomplish that effortless casual preppy feel that transcends pretty much any occasion, and keeps things interesting. Thus, the inspiration of this outfit is very much a cause de J...

New Year's Resolutions that Help EVERYONE
I recently read a little piece of inspiring literature that said, when you have success and happiness, you should share it with at least one other person. It is basically another way of saying ‘pay it forward’. I love this sentiment and when I devoured the 24th issue of Sublime magazine, I found an amazing list of ways one might better themselves this year, while including the...

Out in the cold
This weekend I drove up into the Rocky Mountains near Vail to attend a baby shower of a dear family friend of mine. I have to admit, I felt a little out of place. I have been living in New York City… so, my clothing choice was not quite mountain appropriate. Nevertheless, I thought it would be a fun shot to get me in my Marc Jacobs heels in the snow.
The blazer I am wearing is...

Girl About Town
I am back in Colorado, spending time with my family. Today, my mom and I ventured into a local bead shop to select a special bead or two for a baby shower gift. Apparently, you bring a bead to the shower, as do all the other guests, and then the mother-to-be strings them into a bracelet or necklace and wears it during the pregnancy to carry the blessings of the bead givers. I love this!

Ask Greta: How do I wash my eco-friendly clothes?
Eco-friendly clothing had a rocky start, I will admit. The faded colors, not so true to fit sizing and shrinkage factors have all been of concern. Luckily, the industry is becoming more and more accommodating every day. In addition, I have some washing tips to help extend the life of your beloved eco-fashion pieces.
1. Don’t wash your clothes as much as you did before! This will...

Music Blog Zeitgeist 2010 from Hype Machine
Josh Spear sent me this link earlier today, and I have been literally rocking it all day! It is Hype Machine’s annual roundup of the 50 most-discussed artists, albums, and songs of 2010. Um, awesome.
Listen. Be happy. Share. My favorite is #2 and #5 if I am more in the mood for rap. You?

Fashion in the Digital Space: a conversation with...
Last month I was in the lovely city of Istanbul and attended the Marka Brand Marketing Conference. My favorite talk from the two day event was the one on Fashion in the Digital Space. Josh Spear, the co-founder of Undercurrent and trendspotting blogger behind JoshSpear.com, and BJ Cunningham, the CFO of Georgina Goodwin, stood on the stage and let the audience become flies on the wall to their...

Shake it off!
It is January. Wintertime in New York. Mounds of snow beg for recognition as they slowly melt into the pavement. Then there is me. Bare legged. High heeled. Without so much as a scarf or hat on to keep me warm. Please don’t tell my mother! I’m usually not so underdressed out and about in the streets of New York, but today it was necessary.
Today, I finally understood what makes...
